Two hundred student engineers meet Safran, sponsor of the 2012 graduate year group

The sponsorship of students at ParisTech, a school “at the heart of information technology”, by the Safran group is the logical extension of a partnership stretching back many years.

Soirée de lancement du parrainage de la promo ingénieurs 2012 par SAFRAN

Bernard Didier, General Vice-Manager of Morpho (a subsidiary of the Safran group) and sponsor of the 2012 graduate year group of student engineers, was welcomed on 13 October 2010 by Armand Lévy, Innovation and Development Director at Télécom ParisTech.

SAFRAN, parrain des ingénieurs de la promo 2012

During this initial meeting, Bernard Didier started by introducing the SAFRAN group - a leading international high-technology components manufacturer with three core businesses: aerospace, defense and security - before outlining his own career and setting out:

  • SAFRAN’s key strategic decisions,
  • the sectors and core businesses recruiting within the company,
  • the work of engineers.

During the second part of the event, five employees, some of them ParisTech graduates, provided students with an overview of their work: Mrs Nhu-Anh Desormeaux, Manager of the Purchasing Quality Department; Matthieu Attali, Core Business Manager – Inertial Sensors; Vincent Bouatou, Vice-Director R&T – Identification Division responsible for External Research; Hervé Chabanne, Vice-Director R&T, Identification Division, Senior expert in cryptography and security, Associate professor at Télécom ParisTech; Pierre Roullet, Software Engineer.

Cinq collaborateurs de SAFRAN, diplômés de l’école pour certains, sont venus témoigner de leurs métiers auprès des étudiants.

These talks highlighted the wide range of occupations performed by Télécom ParisTech engineers within SAFRAN, the qualities and skills required for these occupations today, and career prospects within the company and worldwide.

Martin Féjoz, étudiant en 2e année et Président du BDE de Télécom ParisTech

The evening, moderated by Martin Féjoz, a second year student and president of the Télécom ParisTech student association (BDE), proved to be extremely rewarding for everyone involved.

The presence in the amphitheater and at the reception of a delegation from SAFRAN demonstrated the obvious interest this company shows in the education provided by Télécom ParisTech and the skills of its students.

An exclusive partnership

The evening marked the official start of an exclusive partnership between SAFRAN and students at Télécom ParisTech. Each has agreed to work together on practical projects to build synergies between the world of education and the world of work. These projects will include:

  • internships at SAFRAN
  • company visits
  • recruitment preparation support
  • talks
  • invitations to core business round tables.
