Our program of courses and activities for non-French-speaking students aims to help them successfully follow their program at Télécom ParisTech and to best take advantage of their time in France.
This program is essentially for students admitted based on their degrees, for dual-degree and Master of Science students, but is also open to exchange students and postdoctoral students arriving during the year. For PhD students, FLE courses are provided by EDITE [contact for PhD students ].
The team of specialized FLE professors with extensive teaching experience help students improve their knowledge of French language and culture, fit in their new environment and prepare for their internship.
We work closely with other sections of the Languages and Cultures Department and with the student union , which helps us organize a variety of intercultural activities.
The department’s courses are based on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) , which defines the following levels: A1, A2, B1, B2, C1 and C2.
At the school, non-French-speaking foreign students are required to reach CEFR level B2 in French as a foreign language in order to obtain their degree. This is why we ask them to make their language learning a priority.
An example of an intercultural activity: a photo exhibition entitled Regards d'étudiants étrangers sur Paris (Paris seen by foreign students)
