Complex Systems Engineering chair
Telecom ParisTech teams up with Thales, Dassault Aviation, DGA (Weapons Directorate of the French Ministry of Defense), DCNS, Polytechnique and ENSTA ParisTech to form the “Complex Systems Engineering” chair.
The aim of this chair is to create France’s leading teaching and research resource for systems architecture and engineering. It will be located at the Plateau de Saclay campus.
In addition to providing quality teaching and research, the chair will help:
- Make systems architecture and engineering more appealing to students and researchers to better meet the needs of an expanding industrial sector.
- Develop new research areas for complex systems architecture and engineering (building new synergies, permanent staff funding, thesis grants and post-doctoral grants).
- Boost the influence of French scientific research in the field of systems architecture and modeling and form new scientific partnerships with major universities in Europe, the US and elsewhere.
The chair will also establish a number of basic training concepts and develop knowledge to facilitate and advance career opportunities. It will strength the links between academic training, research and industrial experience.
By developing the links between industrial partners, the DGA and ParisTech institutions in Palaiseau around systems engineering, as part of a broader dynamic of cooperation on the Paris-Saclay campus, the chair will help prepare the ground for industrial development through the advanced training of future systems architects and engineers.
