Five cross-disciplinary missions

The coordination committee includes managers and representatives from six partner organizations of the alliance foundation and coordinates the work of founder members on five key missions whose activities are entrusted to a vice-president:

  • Philippe Baptiste (CNRS) development and overall strategy;
  • Guy Cousineau (CPU) higher education affair - Yves Poilane, director of Télécom ParisTech, is the Institut Télécom correspondent for this mission;
  • Francis Jutand (Institut Télécom) project programming;
  • Christian Lerminiaux (CDEFI) European and international cooperation;
  • Jean Therme (CEA) commercial spin-offs and relations with industry

The members of Allistene have chosen Michel Cosnard, CEO of INRIA, as president of the alliance’s coordination committee for two years. He is responsible for the general management of the alliance.

Alliance for Digital Sciences and Technologies

The six founding members of the Allistene alliance are key national players in the field of ICST research :

A member of the National Research and Innovation Strategy (SNRI) launched by the French government in 2009, Allistene’s mission is to ensure a coordinated, national program of research in the field of digital sciences and technology.

The alliance is based around six working groups of high-level researchers, including scientists employed by alliance members and experts appointed by the coordination committee. Their work is supported by partner representatives from competitiveness clusters and professionals from industrial companies operating in their specific fields.

These six specialist “program” groups focus on six major research themes in the following fields:

  • “Modeling, simulations and monitoring of complex systems”,
  • “Systems architecture, algorithms, programming, safety and security”,
  • “Signals and telecommunications, networks and internet of the future”,
  • “Human-system interaction, content and applications”,
  • “Nanoelectronics and nanosciences for Information and Communication Sciences and Technologies”,
  • “Integrative research, technological research and systems integration”.

These groups enable Allistene to fulfill its mission, with tasks allocated between the president of the coordination committee and five vice-presidents in charge of coordinating work on the alliance’s key projects.
