Bernard Didier, General Vice-Manager of Morpho (a subsidiary of the Safran group) and sponsor of the 2012 graduate year group of student engineers, was welcomed on 13 October 2010 by Armand Lévy, Innovation and Development Director at Télécom ParisTech.
During this initial meeting, Bernard Didier started by introducing the SAFRAN group - a leading international high-technology components manufacturer with three core businesses: aerospace, defense and security - before outlining his own career and setting out:
During the second part of the event, five employees, some of them ParisTech graduates, provided students with an overview of their work: Mrs Nhu-Anh Desormeaux, Manager of the Purchasing Quality Department; Matthieu Attali, Core Business Manager – Inertial Sensors; Vincent Bouatou, Vice-Director R&T – Identification Division responsible for External Research; Hervé Chabanne, Vice-Director R&T, Identification Division, Senior expert in cryptography and security, Associate professor at Télécom ParisTech; Pierre Roullet, Software Engineer.
These talks highlighted the wide range of occupations performed by Télécom ParisTech engineers within SAFRAN, the qualities and skills required for these occupations today, and career prospects within the company and worldwide.
The evening, moderated by Martin Féjoz, a second year student and president of the Télécom ParisTech student association (BDE), proved to be extremely rewarding for everyone involved.
The presence in the amphitheater and at the reception of a delegation from SAFRAN demonstrated the obvious interest this company shows in the education provided by Télécom ParisTech and the skills of its students.
