Abstract

As transit price continues to drop, mulithoming has now become a common practice.
Yet, improving the transmission performance over multiple Internet paths remains challenging.
One major difficulty resides in the lack of performance information associate with Interdomain routes.

To overcome this difficulty, previous studies and industrial solutions suggest regular measurement of end-to-end performance over all available paths.
These measurements then allow the choice of most performant paths.
That is the main idea of measurement-based interdomain traffic engineering (TE).

Performance measurement required in this scheme brings challenges that previous works have not fully addressed.
In this thesis, we explored solutions to three of these problems.
